Taylor Swift got involved in a scandal with X due to explicit deepfakes

A scandal involving explicit deepfakes has ensnared Taylor Swift. In the United States, fabricated nude photos of the pop icon, generated by artificial intelligence, have stirred controversy and have even surfaced on social media platforms.

In mid-January 2024, viral nude images of Taylor Swift emerged on the website X (formerly known as Twitter), sparking a significant reaction within U.S. society. This led to a temporary suspension of search results on the social network for the term “Taylor Swift” in English, although it remained available in other languages and in conjunction with other terms such as “Taylor AI Swift.”

According to information from 404 Media, fake images of the pop icon Taylor Swift may have appeared in a Telegram group where users exchange pornographic material generated by artificial intelligence (explicit deepfake images).

It was reported on January 30th that the social network X, owned by Elon Musk, reinstated the ability to search for “Taylor Swift” after temporarily blocking results that were mistakenly classified as pornographic. On Tuesday, January 30th, the search engine reverted to standard results, including a list of tweets associated with the singer.

It is worth noting that the Grammy Awards 2024 will take place on February 4th, where Taylor Swift is nominated in six categories, including “Album of the Year” for “Midnights” (2022), “Record of the Year,” and “Song of the Year” for “Anti-Hero.” Although the singer’s participation in the ceremony has been confirmed, information regarding a potential performance at the Grammys is currently contradictory.
